Knauf Insulation: two Danoline EPDs expire Feb 2027

Eight months from now two Knauf Danoline acoustical gypsum-panel EPDs reach their end date. If renewals are not live in time, spec-driven projects could pivot to competitors with current declarations. Below we outline exactly which EPDs are affected, whether replacements exist, and which alternative products specifiers are likely to shortlist instead.

What is expiring on the calendar

Two Knauf Danoline acoustical board declarations are due to expire in February 2027. The unperforated Plaza, Belgravia, Visona and Amfipanel grouping shows a validity end on 11 February 2027 (EPD Danmark, 2025) (EPD Danmark, 2025). The companion EPD covering perforated Designpanel and Tectopanel was renewed in 2022, which places its five‑year window in early 2027 as well (Knauf Danoline, 2024) (Knauf Danoline, 2024).

Are replacements already live for these SKUs

As of 20 June 2026 we did not find newer, post‑2022 operator records for the specific Danoline sets listed above. Knauf’s broader portfolio is well covered with fresh EPDs stretching into 2029 and 2030, but those apply to other product lines such as gypsum boards and mineral wool insulation, not these Danoline acoustical panels (EPD International, 2024).

Helpful starting points to double‑check status:

Likely substitutions if a gap opens

If either Danoline EPD lapses without a same‑scope replacement, specifiers are likely to shortlist acoustic ceiling and wall systems with current declarations.

  • Saint‑Gobain Ecophon Focus E/VLX acoustic ceilings, valid to 29 January 2029 (EPD International, 2024).
  • Rockfon Tropic and related stone‑wool ceiling panels, with EPDs listed through 3 August 2029 (EPD Norway, 2024).
  • Armstrong Lyra fiberglass ceiling panels, EPD issued 14 January 2025 with a five‑year period of validity to 14 January 2030 (ASTM Program Operator, 2025) (Armstrong Lyra EPD, 2025).

These are not one‑to‑one gypsum matches, yet they meet the same acoustic ceiling intent and keep projects on track when an EPD is required.

Why this matters in LEED v5 bids

In LEED v5 and owner‑led carbon targets, missing product‑specific EPDs can force teams to model conservative defaults, which often nudges them toward alternatives that do carry current declarations. That is avoidable. Keeping EPDs in force preserves specability and reduces substitution risk for everyday schools, offices, and healthcare interiors.

Renewal timing that works

Construction EPDs typically carry a five‑year validity. Program rules also expect a refresh within that window if a published indicator worsens by a defined threshold, so teams should plan data pulls and verification accordingly (EPD International GPI, 2025) (EPD International GPI, 2025).

Practical playbook: lock the reference year, confirm the producing plants covered, and align to EN 15804+A2 scopes now so a 2026 submission clears review before February. That saves you from the parking‑meter‑is‑blinking moment.

Where to track Knauf’s declarations

  • Manufacturer listings and documents: Knauf Insulation EPD hub (link), Knauf Danoline EPD page with product‑specific PDFs (link)
  • Aggregators: the open EPD Directory also lists Knauf Insulation among manufacturers for quick scanning (epd.directory)

What we see now

There are two Danoline declarations heading for February 2027. Replacements were not visible on operator sites at the time of writing, while close competitors hold current EPDs into 2029 and 2030. Acting now keeps these SKUs in the spec and avoids unplanned last‑minute product swaps. It is a small admin task with outsized commercial impact, and it is definately worth doing today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which exact Knauf Danoline EPDs are nearing expiry in February 2027?

Unperforated Plaza, Belgravia, Visona and Amfipanel are listed to 11 February 2027 (EPD Danmark, 2025) [(EPD Danmark, 2025)](https://www.epddanmark.dk/uk/epd-database/knauf-danoline/unperforated-knauf-danoline-cleaneo-plaza-belgravia-visona-and-amfipanel/). The perforated Designpanel and Tectopanel EPDs were renewed in 2022, which places their end in early 2027 under the five‑year norm (EPD International GPI, 2025) [(EPD International GPI, 2025)](https://epd-australasia.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/1740651239-gpi5-0-1_20250227.pdf).

Do competitor products exist with current EPDs in the same application space?

Yes. Examples include Ecophon Focus E/VLX with validity to 2029‑01‑29 (EPD International, 2024), Rockfon Tropic to 2029‑08‑03 (EPD Norway, 2024), and Armstrong Lyra to 2030‑01‑14 (ASTM Program Operator, 2025) [(Armstrong Lyra EPD, 2025)](https://direct-www.armstrongceilings.com/content/dam/armstrongceilings/commercial/north-america/epds/lyra-epd.pdf).

Will specifiers lose access to EPD data for Danoline products in 2027?

Not if renewals are published before February 2027. Without a current EPD, teams on LEED v5 or owner‑mandated carbon accounting often switch to products with active declarations to avoid modeling penalties. That is why starting the renewal now matters commercially.
