What exactly is expiring in February 2027
Based on current listings, four Saint‑Gobain EPDs reach their validity end in February 2027. Dates shown are the last valid day printed on each EPD.
- Gyproc DuraGyp Activ’Air, gypsum board, valid through 2027‑02‑26.
- Gyproc Wallboard, gypsum board, valid through 2027‑02‑26.
- ISOVER CLIMAVER Neto, HVAC duct board, valid through 2027‑02‑27.
- Gyproc Egypt Gyplast Mortar, gypsum plaster, valid through 2027‑02‑22. Note that several Gyplast variants in the same family share this date in the Egypt market.
Why the clock matters: most program rules set EPD validity at five years, so February 2027 lines up with documents first issued in early 2022 (EPD International GPI, 2024).
Do replacements already exist?
- Gyproc DuraGyp Activ’Air and Gyproc Wallboard. We did not find a like‑for‑like replacement EPD already published for these two boards as of June 21, 2026. Gyproc has other current boards on file, yet not direct swaps for the titles above.
- ISOVER CLIMAVER Neto. There is a current EPD for CLIMAVER A2 NETO and other CLIMAVER variants that is valid into 2030, which will generally satisfy project documentation, although product naming and composition differ from the legacy Neto sheet (EPD International AB, 2025).
- Gyplast Mortar. No newer Gyplast mortar or sister‑product EPD was located. If this remains unreplaced into Q1 2027, documentation gaps are likely on projects that call for product‑specific gypsum plasters.

Where specs could pivot if gaps remain
When an EPD lapses, design teams often switch to a similar product that still carries a current declaration to avoid conservative default factors in carbon accounting.
- Gypsum boards. USG has multiple Sheetrock panel EPDs current to August 2028 under the ASTM operator program, for example 5/8 in. Mold Tough Firecode X panels (ASTM International, 2023). National Gypsum’s Gold Bond Fire‑Shield 5/8 in. board is current to May 2025–2030 depending on the version, including a listing valid through 2030‑05‑23 (NSF International, 2025).
- HVAC duct boards and duct insulation. For projects seeking low‑leak duct systems with published impacts, Owens Corning has current EPDs for flexible duct and board‑type insulations that run into late 2029, which keeps them readily specifiable when a named duct board EPD goes dark (SCS Global Services, 2024).
These are not endorsements, just a realistic read on what a specifier is likely to grab when time is tight.
Commercial risk if a lapse happens
EPDs are table‑stakes on many public and private jobs today. Letting one expire can push a product out of the easy‑pick zone, since modelers must assign generic or penalized values without a current declaration. That leads to substitutions that displace revenue, even when the underlying product performance is unchanged. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being present.
Renewal timing that de‑risks Q1 2027
- Lock scope now. Confirm the exact products and markets that need continuity, especially where brand variants share similar names.
- Pick the right rulebook. Align on the PCR competitors use so results compare cleanly at bid time.
- Start data pulls early. Factory energy, transport and allocation questions can stall progress if they are not gathered up front. A crisp plan saves weeks.
If internal bandwidth is tight, bring in a partner who can own data collection inside plants and across ERP exports while your engineers stay focused on production.

Bottom line for specifers
Four Saint‑Gobain EPDs hit their end dates in February 2027. One product family already has newer A2‑class sheets live, the others appear not to. If replacements are not queued this summer, expect some projects to swing to boards and duct materials with current EPDs from rivals. A fast, well‑managed renewal avoids that silent drift and keeps your products in the spec set where they belong.
