What’s expiring and when
OTIS has two high‑rise elevator EPDs due to expire on February 2, 2027. As of today, the records are:
- SkyRise Single Deck elevator, validity to 2027‑02‑02.
- SkyRise Double Deck elevator, validity to 2027‑02‑02.
That date lands inside many 2027 bid calendars, so a lapse can trigger avoidable substitution debates. Feburary sneaks up faster than teams expect.
Are replacements live yet
As of June 20, 2026, we do not see successor EPDs posted for the SkyRise Single or Double Deck models. Several other OTIS declarations remain current beyond early 2027, including the Gen3 family, Link escalators, Genesis, and the Gen360 platform. The gap appears specific to SkyRise coverage.

What specifiers may pick instead
If a spec calls for a current, product‑specific EPD in the high‑rise class, these platforms have active declarations today and are likely to surface as alternates:
- Schindler 7000 High‑Speed, valid to March 27, 2029 (EPD International, 2024) (link).
- TK Elevator momentum, valid to December 17, 2029 (EPD International, 2025) (link).
- KONE MiniSpace DX HighRise with steel rope, valid to January 26, 2028 (EPD International, 2023) (link).
Will specifiers lose access to EPD data
Only for SkyRise if no renewal posts before February 2, 2027. Other OTIS models still carry valid EPDs, so portfolio coverage is not disappearing. The exposure is targeted to SkyRise jobs where the spec or owner requires a current, product‑specific EPD at submittal.
Renewal timing that protects bids
Treat Q3 2026 as the decision window. That gives room to confirm the applicable elevator c‑PCR version, align reference year data, and leave buffer for operator review. The current lifts c‑PCR under the International EPD System is active and should be checked before modeling to avoid rework later.
Commercial ripple effects to expect
A lapsed EPD adds friction in pre‑con. Estimators may default to conservative carbon assumptions, and owners focused on carbon accounting will favor like‑for‑like products with an active declaration. Sales teams also lose a simple compliance checkbox that speeds approvals in the LEED v5 era.

Bottom line for spec teams
If SkyRise is in play on a 2027 project, confirm the EPD path now. Either plan for a refreshed SkyRise declaration or document an approved alternate with an active EPD so the schedule, and the spec, stay intact.
